Ancient theatre of Platiana

·         On December 13, 2013 the programmatic agreement of cultural development was signed between the Ministry of Culture & Sport and the Region of Western Greece - Regional Unit of Elea for € 100,000 for the project "Excavation research, topographic and architectural mapping of the ancient theater of Platiana."
 

·         The aim of the program is to conduct the most comprehensive archaeological documentation of the monument, through additional excavational investigation of selected parts of the ancient theater. These works will follow the deforestation and excavational cleaning of the ancient theater. Once the excavational research of the monument is completed, it is required to conduct topographic mapping of the monument, its new architectural mapping, as well as recording and arranging its decumbent building material. Finally, it is also required to conduct structural fastening studies and a geological study. All the above are precursory works that are required in order to proceed to the preparation of the restoration study of the ancient theater.
 

·         Diazoma has opened a "money box" e-bank account for the ancient theater of Platiana, to which the local community actively contributes.
