Ancient Theater of Hersonissos

• The Municipality of Hersonissos has signed a Programmatic Agreement with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism amounting to € 5,000 for the conduction of a geophysical survey in the monument.

• The geophysical survey has been completed.

• The Municipality of Hersonissos has signed a Programmatic Agreement with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism amounting to € 50,000 for works of cleaning and enhancement of the theater of Hersonissos.

• The Programmatic Agreement has been modified and its original budget has been increased up to 65.000,00 €, in order to be included in the above program the comittion of all necessary restoration studies.

• The excavation work is ongoing.

• The Local Ephorate of Antiquities will soon commission the architect, Mr. Nikos Chatzidakis, to conduct the study for the restoration of the roman theater of Hersonissos.
