Ancient Theater of Lindos

• With a Programmatic Agreement signed by the South Aegean Regional Authority and the Ministry of Culture, funding of € 100,000 was approved for the enhancement of the ancient theater of Lindos.

• The program aims at enhancing the ancient theater of Lindos and upgrading it to an archaeological site of high aesthetic standards that can be an integral part of daily life in the modern village of Lindos.

• The € 100,000 funding provided by the South Aegean Regional Council are used for excavations, fortification works, as well as topographical and architectural mappings, which will give us valuable material for the following commissioning of the theater’s restoration study.

• Summer 2012 begun the cleansing of the seats of the theater.

• The study of the architectural mapping of the theatre will be prepared by the architect Angela Markou.
