Ancient theatre at the Asklepieion of Epidaurus

·         The project “Conservation, restoration and enhancement of monuments in Epidaurus” joined the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF), with a funding of € 3,000,000.

·         Works for the restoration of the proscenium and the maintenance of the vulnerable architectural parts of the stage are due to take place in the ancient theater at the Asklepieion of Epidaurus.

·         In a first phase, the two ramps of the proscenium leading to the floor of the stage building will be restored according to the approved study.

·         In parallel, works for the restoration of the highest rows of seats at the upper section (epitheatron) that had been disturbed by the alluvial deposits in the region, are now continuing.

·         Works are in progress.
