Ancient Theater of Dodoni

·         The theater of Dodoni has joined the 3rd Community Support Framework whose funding made it possible to complete extensive maintenance works that took place throughout the surface on the whole of the first and second tiers of the auditorium.

·         The works main objective was the welding of all, if possible, the detached fragments or parts from the body of the seats in the tiers and the filling of large cracks.

·         Restoration works on the arena walls within the stage building were also carried out.

·         With funding from the 3rd Community Support Framework and following the approval of the Central Archaeological Council, the pilot restoration of the extreme eastern tier of the first frieze (tier 1A) and the southeast retaining wall was also completed.

·         The theater was also included in the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF), with a funding of € 3,000,000.

·         Scheduled Tasks with funding from the NSRF:

-          Using the already restored tier as a pilot project, works will also proceed in the other tiers of the lower auditorium.

-          When the project is completed (by 2015) with funding from the NSRF, the remaining nine tiers of the lower frieze will have been completed.
