Ancient Theater of Gytheion

·         Diazoma has opened a special bank account (money box) for the ancient theatre of Gytheion.
 

·         The Programmatic Agreement for the ancient theater of Gytheion has been signed. With the agreement, the Region of the Peloponnese undertakes to finance with € 100,000 the program of the following works for the enhancement of the ancient theatre:

1.       Investigating the possibility for excavations in selected spots and cleaning the excavation area at the monument.

2.       Topographic and architectural mapping of the theatre and recording the decumbent building material, derived mainly from the stage building and located in its surroundings.

3.       Structural fastening studies - geological study.

4.       Collection, transportation and tidying the decumbent material.

5.       Restoration study of the monument.

·         The signing of the relevant Cabinet Decision for hiring new staff is pending.
